Goomball's first post

I'm a young man who wants to make a difference in this world. I don't mean that as a superficial statement, but I actually do. I am a Christian, and I have a deep desire to make a difference in this world for Christ. I am a cyber security student, currently working through my graduate degree. I enjoy programming on the side (you can view my projects on my main page. I am married to a lovely lady. She makes me laugh and brings a lot of joy into my life. When I look at her I can't help but feel grateful and blessed by the Lord. Oh, I forgot to mention, I also enjoy going disc golfing. It's a hobby that I've slowly picked up the past few years and have gotten deep into (despite me not being so good at it). So that's me in a nutshell.

Why the goofy looking site?

This CSS was taken from a man named Luke Smith. He posts YouTube videos and blogs. And I became fond of his idea surrounding a minimal web. He stated many different points about the modern web being bloated because of too much javascript and ads. And I completely agree with him. That is why this site will be javascript free and it will take after the look and feel of Luke Smith who inspired me to do this.

Why do you want a minimal web?

The internet is pretty much only used for 3 things anymore.

  1. Facebook
  2. YouTube
  3. Googling things

I don't want the internet to be monopolized by a few websites. That is boring. I would much rather have an internet full of websites like Luke Smith's and mine. A place where we can browse and read about strangers ideas and get a whacky picture into their lives. I want the internet to be fun again.

Sadly, with how modern search engines work, we won't ever be able to just run random searches and come across fun random websites. Because the top result is either wikipedia or stackoverflow or reddit. We keep getting the same websites crammed into our throats, and it's boring.
